Abstract:
Organic electroluminescent displays (OLED) have been applied in smart cell phones made in Samsung Company in South Korea. The smart cell phones become a hot product in a market. Large area OLED TVs are also a “TV star” in the TV market and attracted much attention by scientists and producers. Manufacture of organic flat panel displays without any vacuum or high-temperature processes is a key technique to make a low cost OLED display, which would greatly have an impact on the opto-electronic display industry. Inkjet printing (IJP) technology is being developed as an alternative to the traditional techniques for organic materials deposition. IJP of organic materials is with no doubt the most promising technique to easy fabrication, low temperature process, low cost, flexible devices and the highest mass production such as roll-to-roll (R2R) printing in the field of Organic Electronics. The all-solution processes, including organic thin films and metal cathode, without thermal evaporation in vacuum chambers, create a way to industrial roll-to-roll manufacture of flat panel displays.
