Abstract:
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)is a material which has outstanding high-temperature resistance,chemical resistance,flame retardance. PPS fibers were widely applied in the field of high temperature filtration and chemical protection. The comprehensive performances of PPS nanocomposites and fibers were further improved which were reinforced by addtion of nanoparticles. In this paper,the PPS materials or fibers modified by nanoparticles for improving the ultra-violet resistance, the thermal oxidation resistance, abrasion resistance, the crystallization and mechanical properties, the modification mechanism of nanoparticles on PPS are analyzed further. As well as the properties of PPS materials which should be continued to improve, were introduced in detail. It was highlighted that the ultra-violet resistance, the thermal oxidation resistance and the permitted maximal used temperature of PPS materials should be enhanced for further application. More researches about PPS nanocomposites with different nanotopography and sizes and the formation mechanism of PPS nanocomposites fiber need to be studied.
