Abstract:
High-purity zinc (with a purity of ≥99.999%) serves as a crucial foundational material in the fields of microelectronics, semiconductor doping, infrared optics, and new energy, holding an irreplaceable position. This paper systematically reviews the development of high-purity zinc applications, with particular emphasis on its core contributions in infrared optical materials such as ZnSe/ZnS and CdZnTe crystals. Additionally, it outlines the innovative advancements and developments in wet process and pyrolytic process techniques. In the wet process, electrolytic refining remains the dominant method, but acidic systems face issues such as co-deposition of impurities and energy consumption. In contrast, alkaline systems (e.g., Zn(Ⅱ)-NH?-NH?Cl) achieve significant purity enhancement through selective deposition, thereby laying the foundation for subsequent pyrolytic purification. In the pyrolic process, vacuum distillation effectively removes high-volatility impurities, while regional refining methods utilize phase separation effects to achieve deep removal of low-volatility impurities. The combination of these two approaches enables zinc to be purified to a 7N level. Research indicates that alkaline electrolytic systems have an advantage in primary purification but require further optimization of process parameters to reduce costs and adapt to large-scale production. Future advancements in high-purity zinc production techniques are expected to focus on multi-process synergy and high-efficiency, environmentally friendly approaches, meeting the urgent demands for ultra-pure materials in high-tech fields.
