The principle and the cooling effect of fastcooling technique for intermediate frequency furnace are described in this paper. The intermediate frequency furnace was modified according to cooling principle, increasing a rapid cooling system of hydrogen cycle on basis of circulating water system,to enable it to achieve rapid cooling. Comparing the time and efficiency of natural cooling and rapid cooling, results show that the performance indicators of molybdenum products in the fastcooling technology have reached the molybdenum Q/JDC 016-2008 enterprise standard requirements and the technology can greatly improve the production efficiency of the intermediate frequency induction furnace. Now the technology has been successfully carried out the actual production applications, has achieved good economic and social benefits.
