Abstract:
Nitrogen-doped graphene (NG) hydrogel film was prepared by hydrothermal reduction and then vacuum filtration methods using graphene oxide dispersion as precursor and urea as the main doping agent. The nitrogen-doped graphene with various oxygen reduction reaction activities can be obtained through tuning the urea addition. The morphologies, structures and elelctrocatalytic activities of the as-prepared materials were investigated using Scanning Electron Microscope, X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, Laser Raman Spectrometer and Cyclic Voltammetry methods. The results showed that the nitrogen-doped graphene hydrogel films have nitrogen contents varying from 2.37% to 4.22%, dominant with pyridinic N and pyrrolic N. The electrochemical tests showed, the ORR onset potential reaches the minimum of 0.15 V when the nitrogen content is 4.22%, with the limiting current density of about 2.75mA/cm2, which shows good ORR catalytic performance.
