Abstract:
The continuous extrusion technology is a new plastic processing method developed in the 1970s. Compared with the traditional extrusion technology, it has a variety of advantages, such as energy saving, high material utilization, automated production, no limitation of product length, smaller floor area, saving labor cost and so on. It is widely used in nonferrous metal industry, especially copper, aluminum and their alloy manufacturing. As a result, many traditional processes are knocked out. This paper introduces continuous extrusion technology development and the status from mechanics theory, numerical simulation to key technologies and equipments development based on the theory of the continuous extrusion and continuous cladding technology. It focuses on the applications for copper strip, copper bus bar, aluminum tube, aluminum cladding steel wire and cable sheath. Finally standing on the angle of future market, this paper analyses the development trend of the continuous extrusion technology.
