Abstract:
RE BCO coated conductor has demonstrated promising superconducting properties for use at liquid nitrogen temperatures with critical current density, Jc,(at 77 K) higher than 106 A·cm -2, and high irreversibility field, Hirr (77 K), so many countries have focused on its research. The fabrication technology of high temperature coated conductor is reviewed. The characteristics, relative merits and recent development of the preparation methods, such as pulsed laser deposition (PLD), metal organic deposition (MOD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), solgel, magnetron sputtering, and liquid phase epitaxy (LPE), have been analyzed and stressed. The application prospects of coated conductor are also viewed
